August 2013 to Present:
Full time private psychotherapy practice.
September 2013 to September 2015:
Certified Mental Health Court Examiner for the Circuit Court of Multnomah County, independent contractor to Multnomah County, Dept. of County Human Services, Mental Health and Addiction Services Division.
Interviewed the allegedly mentally ill person as to their mental condition and any witnesses during the civil commitment hearing and advisesd the Court as to my findings both verbally and in a written report.
1998 to 2013:
Part-time private practice of individual, couple and group psychotherapy. Group and individual supervision for licensure towards LPC and and LCSW.
July 2009 – August 2013:
Inpatient psychiatric social work, Portland Adventist Medical Center, Portland, Oregon.
Worked with adult patients who are in acute psychiatric distress , including family meetings, social work assessments and discharge planning. Extensive knowledge of community resources and collaboration with community providers.
January 2008 – June 2009:
Clinical Coordinator of first episode psychosis treatment team (Early Assessment and Support Alliance/EASA). Multnomah County Mental Health and Addictions Services, 421 SW Oak St, Portland, Oregon. Coordinated the start up team for Multnomah County, consisting of 9 staff (clinical social workers, supported employment , occupational therapy staff and administrative staff whom I supervised. Collaborated with medical staff on the team (RN and Psychiatrist).
February 1996 – January 2008:
Mental Health Specialist II, Clackamas County Behavioral Health, 998 Library Ct, Oregon City, Oregon. Various positions held include work in first episode psychosis program (Multi-family Program), individual psychotherapy with Adults, co-facilitation of a modified Dialectical Behavior Therapy Group(DBT) in addition to various other psycho-educational groups. Crisis triage and mental health assessment/intake, involuntary commitment investigative work,(ICP).
October 1985 – February 1996:
One year as psychiatric social worker at Dammasch State Hospital, 9 years working on the Crisis Team of Mental Health Services West, downtown Portland. Crisis triage, ICP, short term therapy, and longer term psychotherapy with adults with multiple psychiatric hospitalizations and self harm behaviors.
